Food Consumption

Your city eats every night. How much it needs, and what happens when the stock runs out, decides the strength of your whole community. This article explains the calculation step by step.

When Does the City Eat?

Once per night at 00:00. The city takes the required food rations from the city storage. You do not have to click anything. Only what is in the storage at that time counts.

How Much Does a Citizen Need?

Every citizen needs food for three attributes: Strength, Vitality and Intelligence. For each of them, one ration is needed per 20 points. The result is always rounded up.

Example: A new character has 10 points in everything. That is 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 rations per night. A strong character with 60 Strength, 40 Vitality and 25 Intelligence needs 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 rations.

Important: Only the base values of the character count. Equipment bonuses do not make anyone hungrier.

The daily demand of the city is the sum of all citizens. Citizens in vacation mode are not counted. Anyone who has not started an action for 5 days counts as inactive and does not consume food either.

The Nutritional Status

The city has a nutritional status between 50 and 100 percent. It changes every night:

  • Stock is enough: The demand is deducted. The status rises by 5 points, up to 100.
  • Stock is not enough, but at least 1 ration per citizen: The whole storage is eaten empty. The status drops by 5 points.
  • Less than 1 ration per citizen: The whole storage is eaten empty. The status drops by 10 points.

The status never falls below 50 percent. Hunger is unpleasant, but it is not the end of your city.

What Does the Status Do?

During the nightly recovery, every character only gets back as much health, mana and stamina as the status allows. At 100 percent everyone starts the day full. At 70 percent everyone starts with only 70 percent of their maximum values. The heating status works the same way. The worse of the two values always applies. Where Do Rations Come From?

Food rations are cooked in the Tavern, for example from meat or vegetables. A full meal of meat, bread and vegetables yields more rations. Viewers can also deliver rations to the city storage through Channel Point Rewards.

Tips for Streamers

  • On the city page you can see the daily consumption and how many days the stock will last.
  • When the community grows, the demand grows too. Plan your stock before a big stream.
  • A city booster can lower the food consumption for a while.
  • A stock for at least three days is a good buffer in case nobody cooks.
