The Sawmill processes wood logs into wood planks. Only wood planks are actually used to build and upgrade buildings, raw wood logs themselves are never used in construction.
Processing and Attributes
Sawing is mainly determined by the character's dexterity. Wood logs are needed as input, wood planks are produced as output. Dexterity rises from the work, charisma drops slightly.
Why Upgrading Pays Off
A higher productivity factor means both more wood logs consumed and more wood planks produced per work hour, the ratio between input and output stays nearly the same. Since wood planks appear in almost every construction cost list from the middle building levels onward, a well upgraded Sawmill is essential for further city growth.
