The Iron Smelter uses intense heat to process iron ore from the Mine into iron ingots, the base material for everything made at the Forge.
Processing and Attributes
Smelting is mainly determined by the character's dexterity. Iron ore and charcoal are consumed, iron ingots are produced. Dexterity rises from the work, charisma drops slightly.
Why Upgrading Pays Off
A higher productivity factor means more iron ingots per work hour. Since both the Forge and militia equipment sets depend entirely on iron ingots, the Iron Smelter directly affects the combat equipment of your whole city.
Construction Costs and Productivity per Level
The difficulty factor matches the value your city currently uses (default 100%). Enter your own value here to see your city's actual construction costs. The calculation happens only on this page in your browser and does not change anything about your city.
