Every attack in Legends of Arthengard has a chance to land as a critical hit. A critical hit deals 1.5 times the normal damage and can decisively influence the outcome of a battle.
How do critical hits work?
Each attack triggers a dice roll that determines whether a critical hit lands. The probability depends solely on the attacker's Intelligence attribute. The higher the Intelligence, the greater the chance of landing a critical hit.
The crit chance is calculated using the following formula:
Crit Chance = INT / (INT + 200) × 100
The curve rises noticeably at first but flattens out increasingly with higher Intelligence. A character with 200 Intelligence reaches a crit chance of 50%, while 800 Intelligence results in a chance of 80%. A crit chance of 100% is mathematically impossible to reach.
If the first dice roll fails, there is a chance to roll a second time with a bit of luck. This bonus attempt uses the same crit chance as the first roll.
Damage Calculation
A critical hit multiplies the raw damage by a factor of 1.5. This increased damage is calculated before the enemy's defense is subtracted.
