Attack Rating

The attack rating is one of the most important combat stats in Legends of Arthengard. It serves two central purposes in combat: it determines the probability of actually hitting an enemy, and it indirectly contributes to the damage dealt.

Hit Chance

The hit chance of an attack is derived from the ratio between the attacker's attack rating and the enemy's defense. The higher the attack rating compared to the opponent's defense, the more likely the attack will land. Additionally, a bit of luck plays a role and can further influence the hit chance.

Importantly, the hit chance is capped at a maximum of 95%. A hit is therefore never fully guaranteed, no matter how high the attack rating may be.

Damage

The actual damage of a hit is randomly rolled within a range between minimum and maximum damage. This raw damage is then reduced by the enemy's defense.

Equipment

A character's effective attack rating is composed of the base attack rating plus additional bonuses from equipment. Better weapons and armor pieces can significantly increase the attack rating, thereby improving both hit chance and damage output.
